Rain chances are 20 percent tonight and 40 percent tomorrow, with a weekend outlook of scattered showers and daily highs 70s to mid 70s and lows near 60.

Firefighters injured as West Fayette Street blaze destroys seven buildings
Two city firefighters were buried beneath falling bricks and injured during a 2 a.m. fire on West Fayette Street that destroyed seven buildings including the American Legion post. The backdraft blast caused bricks to fly onto crews as they fought flames from a storage shed behind Belt-Rape Supply Co. Residents evacuated from nearby homes, and four roofs collapsed. Fire Chief Thomas Hanlon labeled the fire suspicious and noted injuries to Lt. Terry Sims and Firefighter Dick Gower. both were treated and released.

Gasoline price cuts hit five major oil firms
