Defendant admits role in purse snatch case
Ronald A. Johnston 19 of 115 Whittier Ave pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of third degree attempted robbery for a Feb. 3 purse snatch in the 1500 block of South Avenue. Co-defendant Walter Owen Jr. 20 already received 10 to seven years for second degree robbery after admitting attacking a 19 year old woman and stealing her purse. Johnston allegedly helped the victim home and provided a false ID and later received a cut from Owen.

Man admits sale of heroin in county court
Walter Roy Williams pleaded guilty to third degree sale of a controlled substance for selling about 30 dollars worth of heroin to an undercover agent on October 15, 1974, on East Fayette Street. Sentencing set for July 12 with a minimum term of at least one year to life, under a Class A felony. Assistant District Attorney John Wegerski prosecuted.

Liverpool man charged with DWI after erratic Route 13 drive
Anthony Zacrell, 63, of 4379 Plantation Boulevard, was arrested by Ithaca state police on a driving while intoxicated charge after his vehicle was seen erratically operating on Route 13 in Newfield, Tompkins County. He was arraigned before Town of Newfield Justice Howard Allen, released on $50 bail, and the case was adjourned to a later date.
