Tim Kneale of Syracuse spellers through three rounds at the National Spelling Bee. The 13 year old eighth grader from Walter Wheeler Middle School correctly spell fatigue conceit opalescent and remains among 77 of 87 entrants. He met Vice President Nelson Rockefeller in the lobby and received his autograph.

An armed bandit robbed the Richfield Springs branch of the National Bank of Albany this morning and fled on a motorcycle with an undetermined amount of cash. Troopers set roadblocks on state routes and Thruway booths while a suspect in his early 20s wearing a flowered shirt and blue pants eluded capture.

Two College Students Slain at Buffalo Campus Apartments
