Speeding May Double License Fee in DMV Plan

Albany reports the New York DMV considers doubling or tripling license renewal fees to fund driver improvement programs. Current annual fee is one dollar. proposed increases would hit drivers with prior convictions within 36 months. The measure targets funding for driver clinics after a $1.3 million cut by the legislature.
