Baum and Oz honored in Everson Museum Oz exhibit
An Everson Museum exhibit titled L Frank Baum The Wizard of Oz gathers Baum memorabilia, editions from the 15 Oz books, and related works. It highlights Baum born near Chittenango in 1856, his Syracuse roots, and the enduring Oz phenomenon through stage, film, and literature since 1900. The show relies on loans from collectors and local supporters, with catalogs noting 109 full length Baum titles and over five million copies sold of the original Oz.

Truckers oppose Thruway toll hikes at Thursday hearing
Trucking groups and officers plan to attend a seven pm hearing in the State Office Building to oppose a Thruway toll increase. The New York State Motor Truck Association represents about 1,500 firms and says small trucks would pay 1.9 cents a mile and large trucks 7 cents. Consolidated Freightways warns higher tolls will push vehicles to alternate routes, with potential annual cost up to $100,000 for some firms.
