Colgate Movement Urges Export of the American Way
Colgate University Movement for International Action on campus releases a plea to export the American way of life rather than armaments. The letter, cited by Leo Suslow, argues America’s power lies in political freedom and opportunity for the common man, not in bombs or industrial might. It also critiques the Truman Doctrine, calling it unclear, inconsistent, and impractical, and questions democracy in Greece and Turkey.
