The forecast calls for uneventful days with mainly clear nights and partial sun. A southern system will bring showers to Pennsylvania but none to New York. No rain expected through the weekend or into Monday. Planet rise and set times included for Moon and five planets.
Heavy downpours from the remnants of Tropical Storm Allison moved north through Texas soaking the Gulf Coast. Forecasts warned of 3 inches of rain across many areas from Texas to Alabama with flood warnings in Galveston and Harris counties. Houston roads flooded as rainfall peaked at 2 to 3 inches per hour. a tropical storm warning was discontinued along a 280 mile stretch from Sargent, Texas to Morgan City, Louisiana, though heavy rain remained likely inland.
An extended forecast calls for up to 7 inches of rain with a flood watch for coastal counties and parishes. Some rivers may rise above flood stage while a warm front brings showers and storms from the Carolinas to the Midwest. Isolated tornadoes and hail over 1 inch are possible, with cooler dry conditions in the West and Northeast and temperatures ranging from the 60s to over 100 degrees across regions.
Forecast for Onaida Onondaga and Finger Lakes shows partly sunny skies with northwest winds 7 to 14 knots. Lake Ontario winds NW to N 7 to 14 knots with unrestricted visibility. Air quality index indicates moderate to hazardous levels from sulfur dioxide ozone and particulates at two sites over 24 hours.
