Senate approves bill for auto repair mechanic certification

The measure would create the Automotive Repair Mechanic Certification Board to test competence and hear consumer complaints, with power to suspend or revoke certificates. Supporters note high consumer costs from faulty repairs and expect motorists to seek certified shops, though Assembly action remains uncertain.
