A 17 year old Cortlandville youth surrendered after a two hour hostage scene that ended without injuries. Deputies seized weapons ammunition knives and 80 marijuana plants from the couple's trailer and charged Byron W. McDermott with felony first degree unlawful imprisonment, first degree reckless endangerment, and third degree criminal possession of marijuana. The deer was turned over to the DEC.

Tragic shooting claim closes life of eight year old Troy Otts

He was killed yesterday when his seven year old brother fired a father's twelve gauge shotgun at their Vienna New York home in Oneida County.
