Last Ditch Fight Set for Valley Housing Plan
Proponents of a 274 unit garden apartment project in Valley prepared for a public hearing after the Common Council rejected the rezoning application seven to one. The council's action blocks the plan despite Shapiro firm objections and county GOP concerns. A lone vote in favor came from Councilman John M. Shannon who urged postponement for a hearing. The article notes 1200 Syracuse applicants, and mentions city hall Saturday closings and election inspector pay raises.
