Bay leaves outprice beef in grocery list satire
In Nashville AP report, prices show bay leaves at 159.20 per pound with $4.68 strip steak and $1.48 hamburger. The piece riffs on consumer spending and lists many exotic seasonings with per pound costs, from saffron to vanilla beans, noting free enterprise in a tongue in cheek tone. It mocks inflation concerns by highlighting absurdly high spice prices.
