Former Bama linebacker still likes tossing foes
Dewey Mitchell a former Alabama linebacker from Seven Springs Florida won the open weight class gold at the National Sports Festival judo finals at Liverpool High School. He has trained in judo since age five and pursued Olympic trials while balancing football and work. He plans a 1984 Games bid with Colorado Springs training and commuting from Tampa with his wife’s support.
