Medicaid shift could cost Onondaga County millions

Albany Assemblyman Bill Bush warns that a state takeover of Medicaid costs under Gov Carey could shift 12.24 million from Onondaga County taxpayers to subsidize New York City Medicaid. The plan would move local costs over four years, with NYC shouldering about 40 percent of the total while suburban counties would bear the rest.
