Freezing rain sparked morning crashes in Central New York
Ice coated roads after rain turned freezing about 6 10 to 7 am. police logged at least 15 accidents with minor injuries. Paul D Ciarlilli, 22, in a 1979 Chrysler New Yorker, hit a Conrail train on Walters Road. car on its roof 20 feet from tracks. Geddes rescue evacuated Ciarlilli to St. Joseph's, where injuries were described as minor and he was to be released soon. Ciarlilli works for P I Foods and was headed to the county warehouse on Van Vleck when the crash occurred.
