Drug probe targets 19 Navy hospital crew and officers

Washington reports that at least 19 Navy hospital corpsmen and officers at National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda face discipline or court-martial after a drug probe. Nine were punished for marijuana and cocaine use with penalties from rank reductions to dismissal, while ten face court-martial on more serious charges. The investigation followed a 21-year-old corpsman Brent Patterson’s arrest and allegations against about 110 others. Patterson pleads not guilty to cocaine and marijuana use, possession, and trafficking.
