Southern Presbyterian and Seventh Day Adventist missions will withdraw by 1941 due to loss of foreign funding and Japanese control of mission properties. Episcopal missions transferred properties on December 12. Other denominations such as Methodists and Baptists say current policies stand, though some missionaries have returned home.
