Inmate sets fire in jail cell amid attempted murder case
Onondaga County deputies report an inmate Shawn Brown 18 of Baltimore Md set papers in his fourth floor Public Safety Building cell sink ablaze shortly before 10 a.m. The fire was sighted by Deputy J Lange yin and extinguished by Deputy Burns. Brown, an escaped mental patient, faces first degree reckless endangerment charges along with earlier indictments for attempted murder sexual abuse and sodomy. No evacuation occurred and smoke was cleared with exhaust fans.

A series of burglaries were reported with entries on Monday and Sunday.
