Burn unit funding sought for Upstate Medical Center

Upstate Medical Center plans a six bed burn unit with about 367000 requested in the governor's budget. Community fundraising by Central New York Burn Treatment Project and Senators Lombardi and Auer supported a 321000 prior appropriation. officials cite regional need with 40 burn cases monthly and 20 patients daily.

Man admits assault charge in police court

Willie Collins aged 19 from 362 Oakwood Ave pleaded guilty at arraignment to a misdemeanor third degree assault. Police said he punched and kicked Maurice Donellson, 18, of 206 Bellevue Ave, causing a lip cut. Judge Rocco P. Regitano ordered no bail and set sentencing for January 6.
