Irish gang of 14 raids three banks in Carndonagh
A 14 member armed gang including two women held Carndonagh residents hostage for 30 minutes and looted all three banks before fleeing toward the Northern Ireland border. Police said about 66,500 dollars was taken with no injuries reported. The gang disabled telephone lines, blocked the street, and used walkie talkies to coordinate. One bank officers were locked in cells and townspeople were warned to stay indoors during the raid.
