A storm system will bring snow sleet and rain tonight with less than an inch of accumulation. Behind it a brief couple of inches possible tomorrow afternoon and evening. Blustery cold Wednesday with some sun. Wind chills near zero to ten below zero.
A weather system threatens freezing rain across the Northeast while snow weighs on the central plains. The East sees rain and ice as bitter cold persists in several regions, with forecasts predicting travel hazards and continued Nordic-tinged cold snaps.
The National Weather Service projects up to a foot of snow in northern Windis and Chicago, with six inches in parts of the southern Great Lakes and northern Missouri. Strong winds, rain and freezing rain affect the Northeast and Florida. Bitter cold grips the Rockies and Four Corners while Pacific coast showers spread through Oregon and northern California. Temperatures vary from 29 below zero in Baudette, Minn to 44 in Florida cities.
In Central New York the record sunshine percentage for November is 0 percent with no sunshine reported. Precipitation shows a trace to 0.06 inches in the period, reflecting minimal measurable moisture.
