Convict testimony claims guards shot prisoner at San Quentin

A convict testified that guard William G. Lewis ordered guard Richard M. Meredith to shoot Sacramento murderer Frank Tucker in the San Quentin isolation ward on Sept. 18, 1938. Tucker died from a abdominal wound. coroner ruled guards acted in self defense. Prosecutor Bagshaw said he would present to the county grand jury for possible murder charges if warranted.
