Hollywood Bowl Gold Hunt Spurs by Antique Coin
Hollywood Dec 6 An old coin possibly a first installment on a treasure said to be worth 8200 000 spurred divers 24 feet beneath Hollywood Bowl parking lot. Bystanders dispute the coin’s date as 1859 or 1869 while a watcher sold it for 25 cents and claimed 75 cents value. Henry Jones leading the hunt notes rising activity in a doodiebug device used to detect gold. Legends say two Mexicans were taking the treasure to San Francisco to buy guns for a revolution and a curse reportedly followed the prize.
