College money factor limits higher education access
The president of the State University of New York said family wealth, not a student’s scholarship, largely decides who can attend college. Alvin C. Eyrich noted income above $9,000 boosts college attendance, while those under $5,000 are less likely to enroll. He urged expansion of community colleges to serve qualified youths unable to pay board and lodging. Frank Kk. Mosher was named president of the state association. The group restructured into 16 districts with biannual district meetings alongside the annual conference.
