Pataki signs bill on school partition safety
Albany Governor George Pataki signed a law requiring partitions in schools to have safety devices that stop movement if a person is between a partition and a wall. Reimbursement is available to districts, and the law takes effect in the 2002 03 school year, following the January death of Rashad Richardson at Boynton Middle School Ithaca.
