U S 25th Division troops stormed a strategic hill on the southern coast, driving 300 Communists from the position under heavy artillery. Allied forces reported a broad push around Pohang and along the eastern coast, with South Korean units advancing on multiple sectors.
In Ansen City Ohio a 14 year old boy Thomas Hart confessed to ambushing and stabbing Kathryn Pieper 13 times on a rural path while Frances Day fled. Hart surrendered to police with the knife after the attack and gave details of the crime. Prosecutor Henry Fox Jr to decide on charges.
The Weather Bureau forecasts cooler air from Canada via the Midwest to reach Central New York, with scattered showers and possible thunderstorms tonight and tomorrow morning.
