The Price Control Board will decide at 8 P M whether meat dairy grains soybeans and cotton seed products return to price controls or stay uncapped. If decontrol is ordered controls may take effect at 12 01 A M Friday after a two day lag to adjust business and regulations.
New York held 21 Congressional contests with the East possibly joining the Midwest trend of incumbents losing. Governor Dewey influenced three races as potential re election remains likely. Delaware Democrats expected to renominate Senator James W Tunnel and Representative Philip A Traynor. Utah Republicans held a runoff for the Senate nomination between Arthur Watkins and William L Baker to oppose incumbent Abe Murdock.
Gov. Dewey, though not on the ballot, played a notable role in three top New York primary races. He voted in New York City's 13th Congressional district in mid Manhattan, a rare move amid the state wide contest.
A Philippine military unit rushed to Tuclung village in Pampanga Province after a raiding party reportedly massacred 50 inhabitants early today. A local survivor said his family was killed but he escaped.

An Army official said eight people were injured when a B 25 bomber crashed at Washington National Airport during a landing in a thunder shower. The plane en route from Patterson Field Dayton burned. Maj. James Williams was treated for cuts and bruises. Names of seven others aboard were not made public.

Mrs Genevieve Phelps 45 wife of former Frankfurt military governor died at Roosevelt Hospital from a self-inflicted bullet wound to the temple. Her husband Col Robert Phelps was hospitalized. The woman had recently suffered a nervous breakdown and shot herself in the hotel suite yesterday morning.
Calcutta calmed after four days of Hindu Muslim clashes left about 3000 dead. Troops and police moved through blood-stained streets to restore order while 2 million residents faced famine and disease from a wrecked food distribution system.

Witnesses report cannon fire near Bled while Premier Marshal Tito was said to be on vacation. The Aug 9 strike southwest of Klagenfurt involved a U S Army transport forced to land after Yugoslav fighter planes attacked. Two parachutes seen from the missing C 47 as diplomats protest the incident.
