Francis Ferry of Syracuse finished as a graceful loser in the ninth annual All American Soap Box Derby held in Akron. Gilbert Kilecan of San Diego won with a 27.31 second 975 foot heat, while Donald Heisler of Glenwood Springs edged Ferry by inches in the final heat.
