CIA veteran Ackerman builds security firm for Fortune 500

In 1975 E C Mike Ackerman resigned from the CIA citing anti CIA hysteria in Congress and press. Now running Ackerman Palumbo Inc with Louis Palumbo, he serves 260 Fortune 500 clients with hostage recovery and protection services. Headquarters staff includes 11 former CIA professionals across Washington Romie Paris Lisbon. The firm also lists Thomas Polgar and Richard Sampson among consultants while avoiding disclosure of specific clients.

Vietnam court sentences two to death in coup plot

A Vietnamese court convicted 33 men of plotting a coup near Ho Chi Minh City. Two former South Vietnamese soldiers and Cao Dai followers, Nguyen Huan Huynh and Chuon Bin Ton, were sentenced to death by firing squad. Four others received life terms.
