Cuomo says Reagan tax plan gives New York a drop dead message
Gov. Mario Cuomo criticizes the Reagan tax simplification plan as a drop dead New York signal while State Comptroller Ed Regan notes a projected $588 million annual federal tax saving for New Yorkers in the plan's current form. The study also shows in 1986 New Yorkers would pay $2.4 billion more due to loss of state and local tax deductibility before benefits rise mid year.

Joan E. Vadeboncoeur critiques Swann in Love at Manlius Cinema for its obsessive romance centering on Charles Swann and Odette de Crecy. Jeremy Irons lends credibility, but the film collapses in an epilogue despite strong supporting turns by Alain Delon and Ornella Muti.
