Peter Hyams a Chicago alum pivots from TV to film directing
CHICAGO Dick Saunders profiles SA alumnus Peter Hyams now making films after leaving Chicago Channel 2 in the 1960s. He recalls journalism's pull versus storytelling, cites mentors like Walter Jacobson, and discusses his career from CBS reporting to screenwriting and directing The Star Chamber and other titles. Hyams reflects on choosing drama over news, and his aim to tell stories rather than cover events.
