The CIO United Auto Workers call 24000 members in seven International Harvester plants to strike after a brief postponement earlier today. The walkout was then declared indefinite.

Subpoenas will be served on about 165 sales tax delinquents next Monday unless reforms are filed. Roger O. Baldwin, counsel to the sales tax bureau, announced the move as Fred L. Dolbear, director, reported $845,617.69 in first quarter collections of the 2 percent levy. The bureau is compiling use tax figures, noting about $150 daily from use tax and $8,000 from automobiles bought elsewhere for use here.
President Truman signed the inflation curb bill amid warnings it is a feeble response to rising living costs. The Federal Reserve Board will set rules and a start date later this week, with details on down payments and terms for cars and appliances under discussion.

A trough of low pressure moving from the Great Lakes region will bring scattered showers or thunderstorms tonight and tomorrow. Temperatures remain mild with a high around 85 tomorrow and a low near 60 tonight. Previous highs reached 83 with a low 58.
Cortland County District Attorney John J. Gardner said owner Emile L. Dedek of Binghamton retrieved the missing airplane. Dedek reportedly took the craft from Cortland Airport yesterday with knowledge of attendants after a lien was filed by Thomas McNary, the port proprietor, and auctioned.
