Salamanca reaches tentative rent pact with Indians
After years of uncertainty Salamanca residents and businesses will learn soon what rents they will pay the Seneca Nation when the 99 year lease expires in 1991. Barry Snyder and Salamanca Mayor Ronald Yehl say documents should be ready in September and the deal hinges on outside financial aid. The city paid $39,296.96 last year and the nation sought $300,000 in annual fees. the city proposed $70,000 to $100,000. Both see mutual benefit and expect help from state or federal sources.
