Hit and run suspect held without bail in multiple counts
A teen suspect in a fatal hit and run in Pompey yesterday morning surrendered to Cazenovia police and is held without bail in Madison County Jail. Robert David Baker, 18, of Syosset Lane, faces second degree manslaughter and leaving the scene charges in Onondaga County, tied to a crash that killed Karla Rigling, 20, as she traveled Route 92. He is also charged with second degree grand larceny for the stolen auto believed driven in the crash. Authorities note Rigling was engaged and en route home from her fiancé’s Cazenovia residence when the collision occurred. The suspect fled on foot after the crash.

Tornadoes and storms kill eight from Wisconsin to Massachusetts
Severe thunderstorms and tornadoes swept from the Central Plains to New England in the fourth straight day of wild weather. A Kansas City woman, Nancy Ray, 24, was crushed by a 12 foot tree limb during a New York City storm. In Massachusetts, two campers aged 10 and 17 died at a Treasure Valley camp near Spencer. A Delaware OH car crash killed three children Gwendalyn Prince 14 Russell 11 and David 8. Wisconsin also reported two storm deaths as 14 tornadoes touched down and winds up to 60 mph.
