Ventura triggers taxpayer glare with Syracuse fishing trip
Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura attended the Ultimate Fishing Challenge on Onondaga Lake with Governor George Pataki after a bet on the Vikings Giants game. While lodging and some airfare were covered by hosts and the campaign, more than 52,000 in security and radio producer travel costs fall to Minnesota taxpayers. Ventura defended the trip as valuable but critics questioned the expense and security coverage.
