Study links heavy child care to later behavioral issues

Washington researchers report the largest long term study of U.S. child care finds children who spend most of their time in non maternal care show higher rates of trans-like aggression defiance and disobedience in kindergarten. The 1,100 to 1,160 children across 10 cities were rated by mothers caregivers and teachers. The study, funded by NIH’s NICHHD, is not yet peer reviewed but is seen as a major early work on child care effects.
