Independent mobility for a student with Downs syndrome
Twenty year old Jim Bailey, a DeVille-Sloan BOCES student born with Down syndrome, now travels alone to a bank, restaurant, shopping center, or library after an innovative transportation training program. The project, expanding to 19 students, aims to boost independence and social contact through the adopt-a-class program linking local schools and Diocese.
