Ex-hostage Tomseth urges flexible approach to terror crises

Victor Tomseth, senior U.S. diplomat during the 1979 Iran hostage crisis, says flexibility is key in handling terrorism. In remarks before Le Moyne College, he argued against rushing to military action, noted potential losses if rescue missions had continued, and defended decisions by U.S. leaders and President Carter amid complex bargaining dynamics.
