Swarthmore College held commencement exercises last Monday awarding eighty nine degrees with many graduates already in national service. Dr Jeremiah W Jenks of NYU gave the address on The Citizen and His Government as the ivy was planted and Wharton Hall dedicated by Mrs Joanna Wharton Lippincott.

Missionary Society to Hold Final Meeting in Presbyterian Church

Community Garden Work Progress Amid Weather Pressures
Volunteers from school and college joined to seed four acres of Ogden tract on Saturday and mark tract two for planting. Mr Hinman and Miss Bitler led planting of Ogden tract two in field corn with five high school helpers. Sugar corn completed on tract one and the near school plot replanted. Religious bodies endorsed the effort and called for more volunteers though few men have joined the work.
