Faithful, stubborn, and humorous, a son’s WWII POW story inspires a cross generational journey. She published Forged by War in 2006 after his 84th year, retracing the Bataan Death March and Japanese camps for a Veterans Day exhibit at San Clemente Presbyterian Church featuring art, photos, and documents. The interview reveals a father who endured starvation, illness, and imprisonment, shaping his daughter’s life and mission to preserve the memory for her grandchildren and local veterans.
