North Carolina Weather Outlook From New Bern to Mountains

Partly cloudy and cooler tonight with lows in the 50s near the coast and 30s in the mountains. Northeast winds 10 to 20 mph. Tuesday remains breezy and cool with highs in the 60s and northeast winds. Cooler air moves across the state for several days with variably cloudy skies and a wide temperature range across regions.

Beatrice Holloway Nelson Dies in New Bern At Home

Beatrice Holloway Nelson of New Bern died Friday at home after a career in civil service and local health and education work. Funeral is Tuesday at St. Pauls Disciples Church of Christ with burial in New Bern National, following viewing with Eastern Star rites tonight.

Held on $10,000 bond, Craven County jail. A separate case notes a stolen 1989 gray Chevrolet pickup and a 1988 white Cavalier theft from Lowe’s in Clarendon. Trent Woods investigators pursue suspects. Moeller reported four bikes stolen from his garage.

Bases Still Open Delay Closures Costly Report Says

NEW YORK AP More than a third of bases slated for closure remain open as the Pentagon shifts offices and reserve units.
