Steady gains in kidney transplant success in the US

The one year survival for cadaver kidneys rose from 77 percent in 1988 to 83 percent in 1991, with top centers surpassing 90 percent. Living relatives yield over 95 percent survival at many institutions. Advances include better preservation solutions since 1987, and refined immunosuppressive therapy with cyclosporine, azathioprine, prednisone, and the newer tacrolimus Prograf.

Stallings announce birth of son Gerald Glenwood Stallings Jr

Mr and Mrs Gerald Stallings of New Bern announce the birth of a son Gerald Glenwood Stallings Jr on September 21 at Craven Regional Medical Center. The mother Shelita Lombre is formerly of Washington DC along with extended family including Cornell Collins Patoy Lombre and the Stallings family. Great grandparents Tito Lombre and Drew Sawyer Jr are noted.
