Trent Court housing plan eyed after Florence flood relief
Blaney discusses rent handling and mold mitigation at Trent Court amid post Florence recovery. The plan, tied to the Choice Neighborhoods Initiative, aims to rebuild into mixed income housing with a new site adjacent to the historic Five Points district. Pennrose Properties left the venture in September over frustration. Mosaic Development Group remains involved with Carolina Avenue and future Trent Court redevelopment. The Housing Authority proposes a 12 million project funded by an Affordable Housing Tax Credit and a 200000 land purchase, seeking to relocate residents while delivering affordable homes and economic integration. Demolition of flooded units has been submitted to HUD for review as plans progress toward green, site-consistent development benefiting the city.
