Venice Chamber pushes for South County upgrades in Tallahassee trip

Venice Chamber of Commerce leaders led a 30 member delegation to discuss transport, commerce and education with state officials. They urged better signs on I-75 and a Venice oriented exit, heard timelines for I-75 work through 1990, and noted uncertainty over a southern Manatee Junior College campus despite backing for Venice dean Jack Dale. The group plans more visits as deadlines approach.

I-75 signs delayed in Venice area

DOT maintenance chief Benny Crouse says directional signs for U S Highway 41 to reach I-75 may be another week or two away in the Venice area. He cites prior focus on signs for the interstate itself and possible delays if signs must be ordered from Lake City. End points on River Road Englewood and U S 301 Ellenton already show signs.
