The Junior League of Sarasota will host a Holiday Tour of Homes on December 6 from 10 am to 4 pm, December 7 from 2 pm to 8 pm, and December 8 from 10 am to 4 pm. A Gala at the Florida West Coast Symphony Music Center will precede the tour. The Michel residence is decorated by William P Michel.

Howard Thrailkill was elected the 1981 president of the Friendly Sons and Daughters of St. Patrick at a Friday meeting. Other officers include Mrs. Dorothy Higginbotham Jack Boyle and James Hamill vice presidents Robert Ross treasurer and Ms. Helen C. White secretary. Directors elected include George Burkholder Pat Quinn and Tom (incomplete). A December 14 cheese and wine tasting at the Venice Community Center is planned, free for members with reservations handled by Mr. and Mrs. George Burkholder.
