Sarasota County Commission rejected an endorsement for the Sarasota Police Benevolent Association to raise funds in Sarasota County. Venice Police Chief Ray Waymire says the PBA has no ties to Venice and funds do not help local officers. He urged residents not to donate and called for clarification on the association’s activities.
