Terre Haute Tribune reports Inez Myers of Shelburn along with Ross Buckley and Earl Spears were found guilty of auto banditry in Vigo County. Buckley and Spears received 10 to 20 year penitentiary terms plus $100 fines each. Myers sentence withheld pending background investigation.

Mortality of Hymera Miner After Poison Mixup and Suicide
Harry Merrill 38 of Hymera died Sunday afternoon after taking iodine by mistake while mixing medicines and then cutting his throat with a razor. Coroner I N Botts led the inquiry noting poor health after mine injuries last week. Survived by wife and two children.

Gill Township Wins Cup at Farmers Picnic
Gill township won the silver loving cup for most points at Sullivan County Farm Bureau’s annual picnic in the city park. Gill led the parade, claimed the tug of war, and finished with forty points while Turman had 380, Fairbanks 15, Curry 10, and Haddon 5. John Hamilton beat Homer Ray in the fat man’s race and Harold Burke defeated Charles Rose in the lean man’s race, both from Gill.

Merom girl Edythe Helen Harber, daughter of D F Harber, married Frederick J Hack of Shelbyville on April 29 1923 at a Paris Illinois Presbyterian church. The union remained secret until September 15. Mrs Hack, a Union Christian Academy and U C C graduate, has taught music art and domestic science in Shelby County and at Moral High School in London Indiana. Hack, a confectioner, attends Lane's Business College in Indianapolis.

World War Veteran Bedwell Dies At County Hospital
World War veteran Medford Bedwell died Saturday afternoon at the county hospital after transfer from Evansville marine hospital. He was a son of Mr and Mrs Doc Bedwell of Pleasantville. Funeral was held at Pleasantville yesterday with a firing squad salute by the Sullivan post American Legion.
Farm Residence Destroyed by Fire Near East Chapel
The Otto Krug farm residence three miles south of East Chapel burned Tuesday at noon. Fire started in a kitchen and was discovered after it had gained headway. Krug saved only part of his personal effects. Loss estimated at one thousand dollars.

Terre Haute Ind Sept 18 construction of the Central Indiana Power Company plant at Dresser seven miles south of Terre Haute on the Wabash river rushes ahead with about 500 workers. The plant will supply 66 000 volt lines north and south to Clinton Sullivan and 132 000 volts to Indianapolis and Logansport with 18 200 volt electricity stepped up at the plant. The facility uses coal from company mines delivered by gondolas feeding crushers and belts to boilers with turbines driving generators and condensers recycling water. The company also operates Merchants Light and Heat Northern Indiana Power Wa bash Valley Electric Valparaiso Lighting and Indiana Electric Corporation.

D. M. Phillips, contractor for Fred F. Bays of the Dome Gas Company, struck a big gasser on the William Huff farm in Turman township last Wednesday. The well reached 785 feet with 300 pounds pressure and will be piped into city mains. A second nearby well is planned, promising an unlimited gas supply for years.
