Former resident dies in Evansville hospital
Dr. Ira L. Turman of Cynthiana Indiana aged 54 died Friday in an Evansville hospital after an appendicitis operation. He was a longtime Christian church member in Cynthiana and is survived by his two wives and five children plus several siblings. Burial was at Cynthiana cemetery. He practiced medicine in Cynthiana for thirty years and was born in Turman township.

Ralph McDade aged 14 and Sunny Williams aged 15 left Keller blocks for a squirrel hunt seven miles southwest of Farmersburg. A double barreled shotgun discharged injuring McDade in the leg above the knee. He died at Sullivan County Hospital after his leg was amputated near the hip.

Five Hearses Bear Victims to Huge Grave
A county mourns as five hearses carry the victims of the C. and E. L. crossing accident. Mr and Mrs Daniel Cash and three sons Homer Thomas and Leonard died Saturday near Pimento after their auto was struck by a southbound train. Only Donald Cash survived, now in St Anthonys hospital. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Pimento and interment occurred in Brown cemetery.

Two miners were killed yesterday evening when slate fell at the mine. Oliver Fisher and John Stultz were named as the victims in the accident reported Tuesday.

Miner Oliver Fisher was instantly killed by a slate fall at the Peerless mine on Tuesday afternoon. John Stultz, a miner from the east side, died at the county hospital from internal injuries after a slate fall at the City Mine. Both men, about sixty, were married. Joe Scully of Paxton mine arrived at the hospital with a badly crushed hand.
