Bryan’s Labor Day affidavits and Republican aid to farmers
A July 1908 affidavit by James Campbell, former president of the Window Glass Workers, cites a Bryan remark calling workers beggars. The text contrasts Bryan’s stance with Republican farm policy, touting the homestead act, agricultural colleges, irrigation acts, rural free delivery, and government farm support amid rising farm output from 1860 to 1908.
