Belgian Miner Slays Dugger Worker and Dies of Injuries
David Jones a well known Dugger miner was shot by Belgian Joe Mercer at the Atlas mines. Jones died Friday night from wounds to the liver and lungs. Mercer, 60, is jailed in Bloomfield on murder charges. Jones, 40, married with three children, was a machine runner at the Superior mine and a member of several organizations.
