Aged resident Hugh Duffy died Sunday night at his home aged 87 from a stroke of paralysis. Born in Ireland he came to the United States at 23, lived in the East and moved to the county 38 years ago. Survived by second wife Anna Pirtle and children Charles Duffy Joseph Duffy and Belle Duffy. Funeral services were held at his home conducted by Father Bolin, with burial at Center Ridge cemetery.

Freight wreck near Shelburn derails four cars
A south bound H. T. and H. local freight derailed a half mile south of Shelburn when a journal on a car broke. Four cars were ditched and no one injured. Train No 92 was diverted via Vincennes to Terre Haute and repairs completed by about 4 PM.

In Caledonia Indiana on November 18 authorities explained the earlier mystery of Mrs. Emery Thomas leaving home last week. It turns out she and her husband separated last Wednesday and she left without concern for safety. Wife Murderer Beasley Set for November Trial in Greene County
